How to convert HEIC to JPG

    1. Add your HEIC files

Drop them on the converter, click Choose files or paste from the clipboard. You can add as many as you like.

    2. Adjust the settings

Pick a JPG quality. 90% is visually identical to the original for most photos; drop to 75–80% if you need smaller files for email.

    3. Download your JPG files

Each file converts automatically. Save files one by one or all at once as a ZIP.

    Why convert HEIC to JPG?

iPhones and iPads save photos as HEIC by default. The format keeps good quality at roughly half the size of a JPG, but plenty of places still refuse it: older Windows PCs, many online forms, print shops, marketplaces and some email clients.

Converting to JPG fixes that. JPG is the one photo format that every phone, computer, browser and upload form accepts, so the converted file just works wherever you send it.

    Frequently asked questions

Will I lose quality converting HEIC to JPG?

JPG is a lossy format, so a tiny amount of detail is always re-encoded. At 90% quality the difference is not visible on screen or in normal prints. The JPG will usually be larger than the HEIC, because HEIC compresses more efficiently.

How many HEIC files can I convert at once?

There is no fixed limit. Each photo is converted on your own device, so the practical limit is your computer’s memory. A few hundred iPhone photos in one batch is fine on most laptops.

Why is my HEIC photo rotated correctly here but not in other apps?

iPhones store orientation as a separate tag. This converter applies that tag before saving, so the JPG comes out the right way up in every app.

Does this work on an iPhone or Android phone?

Yes. Open the page in Safari or Chrome, tap the drop area and choose photos from your library. The JPGs are saved to your Downloads or Files app.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. formatmath converts files with code that runs inside your browser. Your files are never uploaded, stored or seen by us.

    Is it free?

Yes. There is no watermark and no daily limit. An account is optional and only keeps a history of your conversions.
