How to convert PDF to PNG

    1. Add your PDF files

Drop them on the converter, click Choose files or paste from the clipboard. You can add as many as you like.

    2. Adjust the settings

Choose the resolution. PNG has no quality slider because it is lossless; higher dpi simply means more pixels.

    3. Download your PNG files

Each file converts automatically. Save files one by one or all at once as a ZIP.

    Why convert PDF to PNG?

PNG is the better choice when a PDF page contains text, charts, tables or line drawings. It is lossless, so letters and thin lines stay sharp, without the fuzzy halo JPG compression can leave around them.

Each page is rendered at the resolution you choose and saved as a separate PNG, ready for presentations, documentation, design tools or image-only upload forms.

    Frequently asked questions

PDF to PNG or PDF to JPG?

PNG for text, diagrams and screenshots, because it is lossless. JPG for photo-heavy pages, because the files are much smaller.

Can I get a transparent background?

No. PDF pages are rendered with a white background, the same way PDF viewers show them.

How big will the PNG files be?

A text page at 150 dpi is typically 100–400 KB. Pages full of photos, or a 300 dpi setting, can produce several megabytes per page.

Can I convert several PDFs at once?

Yes. Add as many PDFs as you like. Download each one as its own ZIP or everything at once.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. formatmath converts files with code that runs inside your browser. Your files are never uploaded, stored or seen by us.

    Is it free?

Yes. There is no watermark and no daily limit. An account is optional and only keeps a history of your conversions.
