Why convert SVG to PNG?
SVG is a vector format: it describes shapes instead of pixels, so it stays sharp at any size. The problem is that social networks, email signatures, Office apps and many upload forms only accept raster images.
Converting to PNG renders the SVG into pixels with the background kept transparent. Because SVG scales without loss, you can choose a larger output size and get a crisp PNG for high-resolution screens.

Frequently asked questions
How do I choose the PNG size?
Pick 1x, 2x or 4x. 1x uses the width and height defined in the SVG; if the SVG only has a viewBox, its dimensions are used instead. 2x is a good default for websites.
Is the PNG background transparent?
Yes. Areas that are empty in the SVG stay transparent in the PNG.
Why does my converted PNG look different from the SVG?
The most common reasons are missing fonts, external images, or CSS that relies on the page the SVG came from. Embedding fonts as outlines usually fixes it.
Are SVG files with scripts safe to convert here?
The SVG is rendered as an image, which means scripts inside it never run.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. formatmath converts files with code that runs inside your browser. Your files are never uploaded, stored or seen by us.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no watermark and no daily limit. An account is optional and only keeps a history of your conversions.
